n this unlimited series, Maria Barnas furthers her investigation into the relationship between language's presence and intent. Muffling her voice through the act of speaking in clay, Barnas forges a new language into existence. A raw language takes shape and is
captured in porcelain sculptures that measure the size of an oral cavity. Through Barnas’ act, set in porcelain, words demand a new presence. Attempting to solidify the unspoken, these porcelain sculptures become totems of distortion and transformation.
